About UsOur MissionTo provide our guests a retreat from the routine in order to experience recreation, learning, relationships, and creation in a God-honoring setting. Our Ministry ModelHesperus Baptist Camp, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists primarily to leverage the ministry of the local church. We do this by serving groups that do their own programming and groups that attend programs that we design (see our Programming Philosophy). Churches do not exist that we should thrive; rather we exist that churches should thrive. After all, when Jesus left this planet, he left behind a church, not a camp. Our priorities are first, churches in the San Juan and Mesa Verde Baptist Associations, secondarily Kingdom work on a broader scale by serving other churches and Christian organizations, and then through hospitality ministry to non-religious groups and organizations such as schools, businesses, civic organizations and families.
